Do not use explore talent. They are a HUGE scam and will get you nothing but an empty pocketbook.

I have actually found a few things for my son through explore talent. Mostly theater postings but you will see some student films on there too. In fact there is a temple u film listed on there right now. I agree that I haven't found much on there but my son got a Drexel U student film lead that I saw on there. I haven't found that it's a scam, it just doesn't produce a whole lot.

Other places to try that don't cost anythig if you are in Philadelphia are: www.film.org, www.theateralliance.com and sometimes www.heerycasting.com and www.mikelemoncasting.com.
How long have you been doing this laurenp34? Are you parent or child? My 13 yr old son is just starting in film but has done a good bit of theater. We are in philly area too. I hope this has been helpful to you. Good Luck! Razzer

Oops! Correction....www.theateralliance.org not .com. They have film things listed as well as theater.

There isn't much on exploretalent that isn't posted elsewhere, often at no cost. They also unfortunately put old, expired things on. Do not waste your money. Far better to use Actorsaccess.com, which you can do at $2 a submission.

we've been using all of them - film.org, mandy.com, actorsaccess.com, backstage.com, and others for 2 years.
If you have no agent who is really woring for you you would not be able to audition for "bigger" projects. I would suggest to look for agent.

With Actorsaccess.com pay yearly fee, I think it's 68.00, you would have access to sides too and submittion is unlimited.

I just cancelled my account with them and they said it would be refunded soon. I recorded my call because they scammed me and charged me saying my acocunt was inactive and billed me 2x's. I had to call 5 x's to get someone who would fix it for me and she was nice but seriously. While on there I got very little and everything I did get was posted on Mandy.com or backstage! Save your money they are full of it.

You're referring to exploretalent.com as the scam, right? Actorsaccess is not a scam.

I would advise not to use it.
However, my daughter found a post for an audition for a triple threat contest on there. We didn't submit through exploretalent but instead throught the link that was connected. My daughter was a top 10 finalist.

Also, one last thing. Explore talent takes notices from other websites (like Playbill), many casting notices on there weren't posted by the casting directors themselves, and tend to be out of date.

Good luck, be safe!
