A friend of mine called and asked me about this
iTheatrics.com. Since don't have any children in the business or know of any I was wondering if anyone might have some information and has anyone taken their children to this audition.

Many thanks any comments would be appreciate.

My 2 sons worked with them when they were still MTI.(Music Theater International) At that time their workshops were free, and my kids had a blast. They do the licensing for many shows including Disney. My sons did Aladdin, Jungle book and Aristocats with them. They also sent my kids at their expense to perform at some wonderful events. I was surprised to hear that along with the name change came some pricey fees for these workshops, but my kids did get a lot out of them, worked with talented directors and had a lot of fun.

Greetings everyone and thanks for the questions.

iTheatrics is based in New York city and adapts musicals for schools to perform. We adapt shows for Music Theater International, Disney, MacMillan-McGraw Hill and many others. (Past shows have ranged from Disney's Aladdin Junior, and A Year With Frog and Toad Kids, to Rent School Edition.)

Through our JUNIOR THEATER ACADMEY we offers kids the opportunity to perform in workshops of shows we are currently adapting. The JUNIOR THEATER ACADEMY is a great opportunity for kids who are passionate about musical theater to get together with other kids who are also passionate, work with leading directors in the field and be seen by Broadway professionals.

Our kids range from current Broadway performers, to kids who just love performing in musicals.

Our BROADWAY JUNIOR ALL STARS are a hand selected group of kids who are invited to perform all over the U.S.

Past performances have included opening the new FAMILY THEATER at the JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, and many conference appearances ranging from the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS to the MUSIC EDUCATORS NATIONAL CONFERENCE.

iTheatrics also produces the JUNIOR THEATER FESTIVAL held in Atlanta, Georgia. JTF brings together student music theater groups from all over the world in a weekend of adjudication, workshops, and celebration. The next JUNIOR THEATER FESTIVAL will be held JANUARY 16, 17, 18 2009.

We offer needs based scholarships for most of our programs; no one is denied access to our programs based on financial issues.

Feel free to contact us with any question at 646-467-8091 or check out our website at www.iTheatrics.com

Quick question for those who participated in the workshops...did your children have a lot of theatre experience when they did them (i'm not talking about the all stars or theatre festival - both of which my son would like to do). He's had a lot of experience and wouldn't be happy doing workshops with beginners. He's looking for something that would be a challenge while also providing advanced classes (especially for the $500 rate!). Thanks!
