I have a question for anyone with some more experience than i have...
I have found an open call for replacements for a broadway show.I really want to go audition, but am not so sure about the requirments. They are calling for children between 9-12 or 58 inches or under. I am 15 years old, but 58 inches (4 ft 10). I don't look to terribly old for my age either( ill attach a picture) Do you think it is worth it to even go to the auditions?
Should I just go? Would they just kick me out if i looked too old? thanks

You look at least 13 or 14 to me and if you are developed at all then I think you'd be wasting your time. They want 9-12 which means small and undeveloped. You do fit the (listed) height requirenment but they usually want at least 1-2 inches under the actual height they list because kids grow quick. So even if you were hired, you'd probably outgrow the role before you hit the stage. But they may ask your age and not even let you audition. The good news is that if you showed up anyway (and can somehow pass for 12...a long shot), they'd probably let you sing just because you are there and squeezed by the height req. So if you want to go just for the audition experience which is always good to have, then why not? But I wouldn't get my hopes up about going much further because you are 3 yrs over the age they want and certainly don't look 9-11 yrs old. Even 12 is a stretch.

I agree with the above poster. You look older than what they want. Trust me, there'll be other opportunities for auditions where the characters are closer to your age appearance.

While they probably won't throw you out, you are most likely wasting your time. When it comes to replacements, it's as much about fitting the costume and in with the others as it is about your talent.
It's an ugly truth, once kids hit a certain height, they're done on B'way for a while. In fact, that's why Anne Hathaway turned to film!
You are a beautiful girl, please be careful on the Internet.
