Alright. So on Monday, my mother will be calling a Theatre in my town to see what's up. What will happen? I really want to see if they have classes and stuff like that. What should you except when you call a Theatre to possibly join?

Uh. what theatre is this? Are you wanting to take class there, or do you want to audition for a show? They are very different things and I'm not sure what you mean by "joining a theatre". Is it Olney? Is it Roundhouse? help us out

Oh okay, sorry. For classes...I really want to take classes. And by joining?.....I don't know, I just thought that it was addresed in that manner...guess not! =] And it's actually Baltimore Actors Theatre that I was talking about. Ever heard of it? Any better suggestions? Thank you

Well BAT has a wonderful rep! Are you going to for just a two week session? are you wanting to join for their academy? I'd say definitely look into it. If you can, also check out woolley mammoth theatre, roundhouse, imagination stage, and rep stage. They also have wonderful classes as well. I heard mixed reviews of studio theatre, but they might be worth checking out as well. Also, if you want to learn great movement techniques, you GOTTA check out synetic theatre. Paata is a genius. take care!

Well I really don't know. Summer is appoarching and school will be over soon, maybe they'll have a program or something? Or summer classes?I'm not sure. My mom will be calling on Monday.

Im sure they have a website, try googling them. Ive heard great things from parents who have taken their children there. And, they have a study abroad thing too, I think. There's also Carver School for the Arts. I had a lot of friends go there. I gotta say, when you're looking into colleges, you GOTTA apply to Frostburg. A wonderful acting program there! Its a small school, so you get a lot more stage time, and a lot more opportunities with one-on-one instruction. Mairzy is by far one of the best acting coaches I've ever known. I owe my whole life to that woman! She is now the dept. chair at F-Burg. Its a great school, fairly easy to get into, and so much fun! Its tucked away in hillbillyville so, if you do decide to go there, consider taking up skiing or snowboarding as a hobby. And prepare to be a professional alcoholic! haha.

You know, it's funny that you mention their website, because I've actually visited it, and it was VERY indimidating. lol It just looked so serious! I was actually having doubts, but I just said what the heck, I don't have anything to lose.

dont let it intimidate you! Listen, you're in it for acting, right? acting is supposed to be fun, explorative, and exciting! Don't let their impressive messages be a "whoah, this is serious stuff" fear. Yes, acting is serious work....and serious fun! Believe in yourself, and know that even the richest kid in that place can't compare to the soul you have!

I called BAT today, and the strangest thing happened. The phone rang all the way through, and then suddenly the line just went haywire. It made this loud ringing sound...it was very hurtful to my ears...lol so I just sent an e-mail. Hopefully someone will get back to me! Until then, I think I'll start checking out the other theatre's....but I want to make sure I pick the right one.
