I'm curious if anyone can tell me the nitty gritty about attending a Disney Broadway open call? It says sign in begins at 9:30 and auditions are from 10 to 2. Are there going to be hundreds of kids trying to sign in? Is there a limit to how many they'll let sign in and then turn the rest away? Will we be there the whole time? Do they take the kids one at a time and audition them separately? Are parents allowed in the audition room?
As you can tell, I'm new at this and have a lot of questions Thanks!

We were at the open call in Atlanta, and I have to say it was great experience. Although we had done a couple of years of local theater, never auditioned for anything else. They took the kids in each time in groups (w/out parents) and then after a time, they would call them in and they would ask certain kids to stay. (They had the kids sing, read, etc. )They did this about 4-5 times with the last group being asked to callbacks a couple of days later. It only took about 4 hours total. The people from Disney couldn't have been nicer and encouraging to everyone, even taking the time to give parents advice those who were in the last group, but did not make callbacks. Sometimes, it comes down to not looking the part, etc. I hope it is as good experience for you as it was for us.

Hi oneoffour, I sent you a message via Private Message, but I don't know if that's like direct emailing you or not. So, I'll post it here too incase others can also answer this questions.
Does Disney want the kids to sing an entire song or just 16 bars as with other theatre auditions? The Disney Broadway website just says "prepare a song", but I can't imagine they'd want to hear a 3 minute song.
Thanks for sharing your advice. Hope your child gets a call back from Atlanta!
Denise
