My sister contacted me to ask about Industry Models..www.industrystudio.com. To ask if it was a scam. She has been interested in getting my nephew started in the business and was approached in the local mall by someone (which sounded like a red flag to me) but I just wanted to double check around.

I would say your instincts are correct.

Anyone soliciting in a mall is a scam. They pick anyone walking by with a child. Many years ago I went on a job interview and it was for one of these types of places. They just want to charge for a bunch of stuff and have no real contacts or respect in the industry. Tell your sister to run like the wind.

Also I have an industry models kiosk in a mall here in NJ and they stop me everytime I go in with my infant son. They are just young girls that need a job and are not afraid to approach people. One time when I told them he already has an agent, it really threw them off guard..

We also have one up here in CT at the mall and they stop me every time also when I have my little girl. I told them that i know all about them and wouldn't need anything from them. My friend took her little girl down 2 the office to see them, and they wanted her to send like $800 to get pictures taken (http://www.interfacetalent.com/)

Pinkrose, i just clicked on the link at the bottom of your last post and I was surprised to find that website. i am sure it is not affiliated with Ford Models in any way and you might want to rethink posting a child's pix in such a public place. Especially because it lists the name of your town.

just called Ford for myself and talked to someone there and they said that it is affiliated with them and it is new....

okay. My bad. i still would not put pix of a child on a public website. Agents do not hire from there and many pix on there are quite risque.

I wonder why Ford is getting involved in this kind of thing?

not blond you are right... i am so new to all of this & i am looking 4 as much info as i can get.... I think of it like that....
