We were approached by an agent with Jet Set Models (out of La Jolla), while our children were playing at the park. This agent was on vacation with her family and she took the time to talk with my DH and give us her card. We emailed pictures of the boys (5 of them here) and she wants the 4 youngest for commericals/tv/films. They are quadruplets and are 3 years old. The print agent did not want any of the boys for print ads (not what she was looking for) which is cool with us. Now for some questions:

1. Anyone heard of Jet Set?
2. Is there any recommendations on which agency to send the boys pictures to for print work? (Could be out of LA too)
3. What are auditions like (anyone else have mutliples?)?
4. We are getting permits, passports and stat sheets filled out as we speak, what else would you suggest (She told us about the Coogen accts, but stated that we only needed those accounts for union work)?

Thanks for all the help, this board has been wonderful.

J

I just looked at their website and it's not all that impressive.

I've never heard of them, but the best advice anyone here will give you is: DO NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY FOR ANYTHING!!!! Not for the website, not for any "book", not for "their" photographer, NOTHING. If they ask you for money or insist upon classes or for you to use their photographer or if they insist upon you paying to be in their book or on their website, they're full of it.

If you have quads, you should have no problem in securing representation for them so long as they have the 'look' and are easy to work with.

Oh, and the Coogan Account has to be in place for ALL work they do. Not just union work. I don't know what the rules are regarding modeling but for acting, a minimum of 15% of their gross earnings has to be put in their account.

You should read the thread for kids getting started. If you want to submit for print, buy ross reports for agents that represent kids. Also read up at the parf board on delphi forums and the bizparentz.com website. But mainly, as Diane said--don't give anyone any money to rep your kids. Their website doesn't make them look that legit, imo.

Thank you both. They have not asked for any money and have suggested we go to the bizparentz.com web page and read up. They told us about the Coogen accounts and told us to get permits and passports. I feel that they have been on the up and up with us, but you never know. Thanks again for the advice.

Hi! We use Jet Set for our baby. He's been on 4 auditions since we found Jet Set just 6 wks ago and he already has print work this week. I agree that their website is not that great, but they are a good company to work with. I found them by called Baby Style, Gap, etc to ask which agents they use for their ads. Jet Set was one of the. I cannot imagine how hard it will be with all of your children. I only have 1 child and it's hard driving in LA traffic, finding parking, getting him fed and changed before auditions. But, I have to tell you that he loves seeing all the babies and it is a little fun. Plus, we can start his college fund now. Best of luck to you!

Hmmmm.... I always thought Gap did their photo shoots right here in NYC.

A kid my daughter was in a movie with did 2 Gap ads here in NY.

Also, another poster here (a while back) said their baby was called for some Baby Gap stuff here in NY.

I would never think Gap would use a SD agency for their print work or commercials.

I live in La Jolla and know where Jet Set is located. A few of my son's friends (teenagers) have gotten work through them. They tend to cater to the sun/sand/surf type of ads...at least that's what type of work the girls did...but they are definitely legit. This is my first post but I'm legit too.

Hi,
We're with Jet Set too. They don't ask for ANY money up front and have sent my 14 month old son on 3 auditions (for H&M Kids, baby gap and Landsend clothing) and he was directly booked for a cover shoot for Parents magazine. They are based outside SD, but consider themselves an LA agency and that is where we've had all of our auditions/shoots. I like the fact that they are smaller and feel that our agent knows us more personally. We've been happy!

Jet Set is legit. I am thinking about sending some pics to them. I spoke with Paloma a fews months ago. She represents the babies 3 and under. Good luck!

Just to be educational, print auditions are called "go-sees."
Good luck to all!
