Sometimes you have to try..... I read some of the posts here on Generation.I've been on the site a few times. But never submitted my son's pic,Because you had to mail them in and I just couldn't be bothered.Plus he is with Product. But I went on the site today and something told me just email some pic's of my son, 3 to be factual.Just to see if I would get a response. And I did within 2 hours Patti responded.I was invited for their open call that they are having this weekend. How awesome is that...My only dilemma is I had a Hair Appt this weekend.I need to get my hair did. What's a girl to do.But she did say for me to let her know my son's correct height.Because Last he was measured he was about 36inches tall for a 2 yr old.So I said he was now 40 inches, just guessed from the time he was measured. My son is tall for a 2 year old.He towers over most 3 to 4 year olds....So my question is should I go and forget my hair appt.Or should I email her back if we can come another day, because I sure do need to get my hair did.....Lol

Sometimes it never hurts to take a chance, what's the worse that can happen.Someone can just say no,or maybe yes...

i have dealt with patti before, she is awesome and very accomodating. don't tell her that you have a hair apointment; just tell her that you have a prior committment and i can almost guarantee that she will schedule you to come in for an appointment on another day that works for you. good luck!

I don't think Product is exclusive. No Contract, they just represent you.
Plus generation has tv as well.So I just want to know what they have to offer. You should never let any opportunity pass you by without finding out what you might be passing up.I can go to an open call as long as I'm honest with whom I'm dealing with and see if we can work together.

Karrihiggy,
Product is exclusive, I have never known them to send anyone out, with out a contract.

we are with Product too and it has always been my understanding that they are exclusive. I imagine Generation is as well. i think the exception would be if you used product for print and generation for tv. Help me out Generation parents. aren't generation's tv and print divisions seperate so you can work with one and not the other?

in any event i would tread lightly here. you have interest from two wonderful agencies and you don't want to end up burning bridges with both of them.

With product when you receive your welcome package this is the only portion you sign with them...No where does it states exclusive. It just states paticular jobs in which they have a contract with that client.

"Signing here also confirms that you will allow all Product Model Management Agents to sign as "Attorney in fact” when a client provides us with a contract to sign for your child when he/she is working on a particular job"

Definately exclusive. We decided to go with FFT because I do not want exclusive for them right now.

H&M... We are heading out tomorrow on an H&M direct request tomorrow. Couldn't take my son on the last direct request. Glad they are interested again. Good luck to all.

Charles Manson Movie.. son auditioned on a direct request to play the roll of Tex Watson today. Looks good, will let everyone know when I hear something.

Generation is a great agency. Patti and everyone there is very nice and work hard for the kids. That being said if you would like to be with them, plan on leaving Product. You cannot be with both. Although you do not "sign" anything, you are giving the agencies a verbal agreement that you are going to be exclusive with just them. Not sure why you would want to be with both since they get almost all the same calls it is just a matter of which agency you feel is a better fot for you and your son. They are both top agencies. If you would like to see what Generation is all about then I would reschedule your hair appointment and go to the open call. I would only ask Patti to meet with you at a different time if you would consider leaving Product, otherwise it would be a waste of yours and Pattis time if you went in to meet with her expecting to be with both.

njmomto3 makes a great point. As a product mom I feel at most gosees and bookings I run into Generation parents so I think both agencies are requested for most jobs.

Well said, njmomof3. Some agencies aren't "comparable" but I'd say that Product and Gen are pretty equal. Different atmosphere at each office but they get basically the same calls.
