Hi,

Yesterday I received a call asking that my dd come in to audition for a part in a film that we had submitted for. Unfortunately,I did not receive the message and return the call until about an hour and a 1/2 later. When the casting director got on the phone he sounded overwhelmed and said that all the audition times were already taken. I asked him if he had any other days available. He said he didn't know, but thought maybe Friday. I know that timing can be an issue with commercial auditions, but this is a first for us with regard to film? Is it just that the early bird gets the worm? It's too bad because it sounds like a good project. thanks

When you did not answer their call right away they gave to the slot to another child. You have to remember for every breakdown, they receive thousands of submissions, and they can only see so many, thats why it's so very important to celebrate the audition. If they do not find what they are looking for, however they may call you back.

Sorry, inthesky123. We have the cell phone issue because of hit and miss cell sites in our town, especially when I am in our house. But because I don't give our home number, it messed us up this time. Urgggh! Hey, like Castlerock said, you have to celebrate that you were called and it would have been a booking!

My son is almost never available when they want to audition. We end up going with an alternative time when we are both available (Director and my son). Films seem to be very flexible.

Happened to us 2 weeks ago! Agency called my cell at about 5:30pm and left a voicemail saying my child is on hold for a job that was the next day and to call her back...my phone was dead but I called back when I got home at about 6:30pm...The agent said "they released your child because you took too long to call back"... Frowner ugh!!! The next day I went and bought an additional phone charger so I can leave at work. My phone will never die again! Cool
