Hi,

My son is with a top name manager, but has not been sent on any auditions for commercials or anything else since before the summer. Is the market for commercials that dried up? Are they looking for 18 and older? Is the manager not doing a good job?

In the winter and spring, he had quite a few auditions, including a major part in a Broadway play, which he did not get. Then it just stopped.

Just trying to compare with others' recent experiences.

It is just really, really, slow, same here for girls in that age group went out about 3 weeks ago, nothing since. Hopefully soon. Good luck!

My son did not get much from 16-18 but once he turned 18, there were tons of opportunities. dd is almost 18 and things have been dead slow for her since beginning of Sept.

It was busy in the spring and sort of slow during the summer with August dead. In September the activity started up again. My 15YO DS is doing three short films this week, auditioned for a web series last night and has several more requests for the upcomming months. Not all paying, but he's only 15 and needs to build his resume. He would rather be working for no pay than just sitting around. At least he is busy.
He was to do a play next month, but that got canceled...
I let his agent worry about the commercials. Too few to mention.
FYI here are some production shots from Sunday, it is a period piece. They shoot again Saturday.

Just a quick update, since I started the thread. My son finally had an audition today for a commercial. Let's hope that things are picking up.
