Hi, i'm 15 and I'm meeting with an agent soon who works with Disney and Nickelodeon. I am in the New York area and I am wondering if there are any Disney or Nickelodeon shows that currently film in New York. If you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I don't know much about Nickelodeon but I'm pretty sure that Naked Brothers Band films here b/c the brothers go to school in NYC.

I thought so, thanks!
I saw a casting call awhile back for it in NYC and i was unsure as to where it'd be filmed.
Does that show have new roles/different actor each episode?
Thanks!

agents often gets calls for disney/nickelodeon where they are either casting in new york for la shows/films or they will put their clients on tape and send to la..meaning agents in ny don't just cast for the shows that are shot in new york only

NBB is shot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. My oldest DD worked as an extra for them in Sept. I'm not sure if they're looking for anyone new. They seem to have plenty of kids but you never know. I have to say as far as doing background this show makes sure everyone gets scene. We can't wait for the episode to air. Smiler

Please keep in mind that if you do extra work on NBB you will be treated like cattle. All extras are held in a separate area, eat junk food meals in a separate area, etc. than the regulars and "under 5's." Generally extras are not paid either. Oh yes - you also need to supply whatever wardrobe is required. It's all part of the crummy deal by AFTRA with most Nick shows.

My daughter was an "under 5" for a show and I couldn't believe the difference in treatment.

I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying it may not be all you think it is.

Not paid? Who does extra work without being paid? I am surprised people are that, I guess, desperate. As well as lacking basic business sense!

LOL! I think it is much different when you are starting out- you will do lots of things for free to promote yourself that you wouldn't after you have "made a name" for yourself.

BTW don't take that wrong.. I ALWAYS enjoy your posts!

My dd was paid aftra wages and the boys ate from the same food we did. We were not treated like cattle. They just took their food before the rest of us which I've seen happen on many background jobs. As far as bringing your own clothes that's also common with background work. The episode she was in is about Thomas. She had a great time and was so excited to meet the boys. They were very friendly. hah, thanks--excellent point! but I was just thinking that "free" on a big deal network show is a little different than "free" on a student film! Smiler

No...LA...all Nick live action production is shot in LA. Some animation is done in NY and some in LA. Prior to Aug 2004, all production for the network was done in their Orlando studios, which were opened in 1990.
