I have a six year old who would love to take singing lessons. Can anyone suggest a teacher I could start her with?

Where are you located? We looked into our local Community Music School and found chorus as a great venue for our kids. We were also told by many proffessionals that they would only give private voice lessons to kids after they hit puberty. With that said we found a local popular musicial that does work with young kids in a performance mannor not specifically voice lessons. We are pursuiing this currently in Western MA.

most voice teachers do not like to start lessons for kids until age 9 though.

That is true they usually like to start later. However, there are exceptions to the rule based on the particular child.

Sorry, we go into manhattan for auditions and classes. My daughter has an acting coach and takes classes but has not really been exposed to singing so I was looking for someonething at a beginner level just to giver her a chance to use her voice more and get some basic instuction
