Okay, so who's watching THIS trainwreck in the making?????

I swore I wouldn't watch, but I've watched every episode thus far. A good "how NOT to" for parents of kids in the biz!

I dont know why I have this reaction but...that kid makes me want to just smash her in the face every time she gets on camera. I dont know why but I find her extremely unlikeable. There is not an ounce of star quality in that kid as far as I am concerned. In fact as I stated, I have a very adverse reaction every time they show her.
The show should be about the younger brother Cody. He seems to have an "it" factor. He's very cute and lights up the screen every time he comes on. The mother is wasting her time with Ali. Cody has a much better shot at stardom than his sister. I hope Ali has a decent education behind her because I think her 15 minutes will be up soon. She's probably got about 12 left.

Actorsmommy, I was thinking the EXACT same thing about Cody. Every single time he is on camera, I think and say outloud "Ah..he's so cute!!!" From what I can tell he doesn't have any interest or desire to be in the spotlight. I wish he did. He is just adorable!!!

ActorsMommy,
You are soooo right!!!
Ali may have a great singing voice (she really does), but she is just ANNOYING. Every sentence is like a question.... "me and my mooom? we went to this plaaace?" ANNOYING BEYOND ANNOYING!!!!

About Cody.. he is absolutely adorable. He definitely has the "it" factor about him. It doesn't seem that he's all that interested in stardom right now but who knows what Dina might do if Ali tanks?

Avid,
Lindsay actually HAD some talent before her mother started letting her go clubbing and drinking when she was 17. That was the beginning of the end of her career.

About Ali.... she has a good voice and she's gorgeous, but she's not going to get very far. First, she's annoying. Second, she's in it for the "fame" and thinks it's "fun" to be famous, give autographs, etc. I'm sure once she makes her CD, she'll be out clubbing (since they pay them to show up at clubs) and she'll go down the Lindsay spiral. I wonder how long it will take?

Hopefully, Dina won't try to put Cody in show business. He really is a cute kid and definitely lights up a room, but I don't think he's interested in any of that stuff.

DianeNYC, I agree, Lindsay was a very talented little girl. I think back to the movies she did as a child, and wow, sad to see where she has ended up.

As for her siblings, I have no idea, havent seen either of them to know about their talent. I think it's normal for a teen girl to think being famous would be fun...especially considering that she has watched her sister do a lot of fun stuff (fun to a teen, and one with a questionable values system at that.)

The Lohan situation is a reminder to me, that you can have the most talented kid in the world, bright, attractive - all of that, and they can still wind up destroyed, without guidance, parenting and morals.

This mom seems like a lost soul to me. It doesnt seem that she has instilled true goals (except to "be famous") or taught a values system, or put boundaries in place to identify right from wrong.....no child can survive in that environment, no matter how talented.

Ali will end up being ten times worse than Lindsay. The writing was on the wall in this last episode when she went out and got the dog after Dina said "no". My kid would never even DARE to defy me like that on that level. And how the hell did Ali, at 14, have access to 1400+ dollars to buy a maltese puppy???
The brother's girlfriend sleeps over the house, in the same room, with two younger kids watching. Nice example.
I personally don't even think Ali is attractive. She looks much older than she actually is and she is so annoying that if there IS an ounce of attractiveness in her, I just can't see it because I can't get past how annoying she is. I havent heard her sing yet because I have only seen the first episode and last nights. Unless she is an amazing singer, hopefully, we wont be subjected to Ali Lohan much longer.

No matter how talented they are, the fact that dysfunction is the aura that surrounds them. They could be multilmillionaires right now, but that will soon dwindle down. The mother should be harpooned, and put on display at Ripley's believe it or not as a psychotic mom ruining her children. Ali probably looks ten years older because she may be allowed to smoke and drink. Im not saying she does, but it wouldn't surprise me if some papparazi took a shot of her puffing a pallmall with a forty ounce in her hand. The family is just trashy. And whats worse, they are inadvertent role models for society's youth. This is what kids want to portray. its sad!

I am a reality tv series junkie! So of course im watching this show (waiting for 2nd season of I Know My kids a star) First of all, id like the mom to ask Ali to eat alittle more, she looks like shes 80lbs. Also I was soooooo disturbed when I watched the episode of the Firemen coming to the house and the kids couldnt get in touch with the mom cuz she was tooo busy partying and drinking! UGGGGG and then she wonders why they get bashed in the media!

I always tell my kids that money only maginify the kind of person that you already are. Meaning, that Linday, her sibilings, and mother would be the same dysfunctional family even if they didn't have any money. If you are a screw up, money will make you a bigger screw up. Just think of the child stars who grew up being successful as adults, whether or not they were still acting. They probably would have still been sucessful even if they weren't child stars.

KayTrishJr,

You're right... they do those shows about the Lottery winners and show that these people rarely change who they are once they win millions. It just makes their true personalities more pronounced. They usually have this special on E! every few weeks. It's sad, really, how winning money that can change your life and do so much good usually winds up ruining the winner's life or they become bankrupt within 5 years of winning millions.

It's a shame that the Lohan family is so dysfunctional. I feel sort of bad for the oldest brother, Michael. He seems to have such a sadness about him... like too much responsibility was put on him at a young age, with the dad going to jail and all the marital problems between the parents.
