A nice guy named Bob, who seemed in charge of the leg work, did tell a mom that they weren't replacing a Molly at this time. He did seem to imply that there were 2 spots needed to replace for the last 3 months of the tour, and then they were recasting the tour in August. I saw Tina (I think that is her name) speak to 2 moms & those moms seemed thrilled when she did & then they left immediately with their kids. I thinks it's odd that they would cast on the spot like that, right? One of the girls was Tiana Stevens. She came in frim Florida for the audition. My daughter said she was fantastic.

Congrats on your dd making it this far. I assume the callbacks included dance. Can you tell me about the callback audition? What type of dance did they do? Was it ballet steps or jazz? How long was the whole process yesterday? Thanks.

Very interesting... Thanks for that peice of the puzzle. It does seem strange that they would cast anyone the day of the audition. Hmmm... It will definately be interesting to see what happens. The tour is coming our way in April. We can't wait to see it. Part of me is sad because we really wanted to see the girls that were initially cast, but I guess it will be fun to see the newly cast orphans too(if indeed they are replacing any).

Thanks for all the info Supermum!

This was my daughter's 2nd time auditioning for the tour. No idea whether or not she's on the 'hotlist' or not, but she made the first two cuts last spring and was eliminated when they picked the last half dozen or so after the girls danced this time. I was wondering if anyone, who has been cut after several call backs, or who is on this 'hotlist' has ever actually been emailed as Bob so consistently suggests, and if so, how long before you hear from them?

My daughter was on the hotlist 2 auditions before this one. She was in the very final group left at the end of the day, about 14 girls. She got an email from Tina to come to the next audition, and didn't have to wait in the enormous line of girls, but actually had an appointment time.

We decided to go to the auditions, and made it to the end. Ok so here is what we were told. Yes they are replacing at least one orphan, possibly two. The roles they are replacing are Molly and Duffy (sounds like it maybe Duffy for sure and Molly maybe, but this is just my guess,) This is direct info from Networks. It sounds like one person gave notice (we were told they are leaving in about a month and half) and maybe they are expecting some else to give notice soon. They said with the last 20 of us in the room, that they were making a list of 5 back ups for each role, and that is why we were all still there. They were trying to place the girls in the right "orphan" back up category. Someone asked about the hotlist. Yes the really do send out emails, but they are from Tina not Bob. Yes you are on the hotlist if you made it to the end of the day, or if they told you otherwise. They are going to hold auditions again in a few months, and then they will be taking the summer off (the tour will) One mom mentioned the two moms at the end who were really happy.. yes it is weird for offers to go out that fast, but I believe that is what happened. Well, at least they were led to believe that would happen. My daughter said that even though all of the girls in her group were asked to learn the molly tap solo, that only one little girl was actually asked to perform it for Martin, and this little girl was one of the two mentioned above. The other one I overheard saying "I can't believe it!" Both those girls were in that random group that was pulled to dance again last minute. I have a feeling they were told to expect a call, or something to that nature. Congrats to both! The day was really fun, the girls all so talented (even Bob mentioned how they had such a talented group of girls this time, that Martin didn't cut anyone after the singing audition,) and my daughter was thrilled to see that Marissa was there!

Just curious, how small are the Molly and Duffy girls usually? I am not up on heights of the orphans, I know Molly is the smallest, where does Duffy fit in size wise? I am thinking she is next smallest. Do they have actual height limits for each role?

Did anyone notice if any particular orphan role have more "types" attending than the other roles at this last audition?

Again, just curious!

We didn't make it to this audition, but would like to attend the next one. Was all the dancing tap? Can you tell me a little bit about what type of dance movements they did in the callback? Thanks so much!

They are usually in June. At least they have been the last two years. I know because each time, they were the weekend of my DD's dance recital, so we couldn't go.

hello,

Our daughter is 11 years old and is interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts. She has quite a bit of experience in musical productions since the age of 7. Could someone let us know where to begin in the professional arena?
