The music video CD makes it all clear that he loves your kid's look and talks about the day of shooting, what he will be wearing and what they will do to his hair and what scenes he will be doing, and says they will definitely call us that very evening because the shoot is in 3 days. He does not say that he booked it, because he (CD) says he has one other actor to meet, which I appreciated. We did not think it was a 100% done deal, but we expected at least a courtesy of the promised phone call. No such thing. The next morning I call his assistant. Of course they booked someone else. Any comments?

Gosh... sounds like we had the same casting person!!! The problem we had was it was right in front of my child... so the excitement is soon deflated...so I've told him, "Until you see a contract, it isn't yours!" I don't know why they do this. We had a for a MAJOR commercial... and twenty minutes later the call was TAKEN BACK! like how can that happen?! I don't tell my child about anything.... can't get hopes up... forget about it! Hard lesson to learn. He got over it quickly but enjoys the commercial every time he sees it.. go figure.. he says the lines along with the kid! Smiler

This CD did it all in front of my kid too! They went at it like he was hyping up the day of shooting for my son. He made it sound like he is planning all of it with my son. It was such a great back-and-forth between them that I suspect that a producer must have overruled the CD. Otherwise I can't explain it rationally. Thank you for sharing your story. This is definitely a lesson, a cruel one, but nevertheless it is good to have it behind us because nothing like this will EVER happen to us again. We won't trust any of these people, except our manager/agent David Matis who has earned our trust repeatedly. I'd rather have a great agent for a long haul than book one job.

If your kid enjoys the commercial with another actor in it, it says a great deal about him (and you). It's so much more valuable than to have actually booked the commercial.
