Your child does shows, right? My DD is a pretty good singer. Where do I go to sign her up with an agent?

My first guess would be with an agency.

We have had that asked also as if they just sign up with an agent!! ....I have had lots of funny questions : Once someone who knew my son had an audition (for a major FF) said " Oh that sounds like fun could you take my son so he can do it too !!! "

My DD's friends at school are constantly asking her for the name and phone number of her agent...as if they are going to just pick up the phone, give DD's agent a ringy dingy, and say they want to start acting & auditioning too.

"How come she doesnt have any LINES in that commercial?"

Note: How often do you see dialogue in commercials other than the narrator?

We have a friend whose been in some Disney B'way shows (Lion King and mermaid). So he's played a fish and a Lion. They get asked:

"When is he going to get to play a human?"

This is the greatest thread! I love these stories. We went to the stagedoor of an Annie production and there was a little girl there in a red dress and red hair who was waiting to see Annie. Of course Annie comes out in winter hat and no red dress. The little girl was so upset she said you're not Annie, where is Annie? I want Annie. There was no convincing her that Annie had just signed her program.

I work at an undisclosed acting school wink wink, and I had a parent ask me about my background. I told her I've done much more theatre than film, and she said, "Theatre? I thought you did acting."
I looked at her confused and said, "Yes, I acted on stage....in the theatre."
She replied, "Oh, I thought you did real acting. Whats the difference between acting and theatre?"

I was stunned. I had no answer for her. Well, I could've told her that acting on stage (ie the F*^*ING THEATRE) is considered acting, but she wouldn't have understood that. There's some real loonies out there!

"My DS can even carry a conversation with a brick wall. He would be PERFECT for acting. Can I get your agent's info?"

Ha ha, these are great.

I remember when I got my first headshots in ninth grade. "I'm getting headshots tomorrow," I told my friends. They looked horrified. "Oh, my God, shots?! What's wrong?" LOL
