ocmom-how long does it take to get a response from Product? I submitted online over 2 weeks ago and it is still listed as pending which means nobody has looked at it yet.
Here's a questions from parents that are new at this. If Patti only spoke to families she felt she was interested in and just took pictures of the others and sent them on her way that means she made a decision about the child as they were walking over to her right? So, should I assume that means that she felt my child's appearance would just not be at all right for her company. There's a difference between "we're not looking for children of this type right now" and "we are looking for girls of this type, but she'd never work" Since she had to be making these decisions as the kids walked across the room to her it makes me think that her profesional opinion was that my kid doesn't have the right look.
I wish I had known who she was...I would have asked a question or two.

I didn't go to this open call. But my child has worked with Patti and Nick for years. She comes off a little brusque sometimes, but she really is a great agent. We really love Generation.

If your kids are not for Generation... there are plenty of other agencies in NYC ---funny face talent, product, ford, wilhelmina

babymodelmom- Product sometimes takes a while, but they almost always send a reply either way. As for Generation, don't sweat it. Even if they don't think your child has the right look for them, maybe your child has the right look for another agency. How old is your child?

I submitted online for Product and they immediately responded. Unfortunately we couldn't attend the open call on May 10 so as of now we are waiting for the next available date. As for generation I also submitted online but have yet to hear back from them. Not sure if they allow online submits.

MIAMINONNATIVE-Hmm...Nick...that sounds familiar. I think he was playing with my DD in the hallway for a min. She didn't want to leave and he was joking around with her about stayign there.

Babymodelmom...I wouldn't be too upset. Maybe Patti had a set height requirement that she was looking for. It seemed as though she was very anxious to know how tall my ds was...and when one of the other people told her he was 51 inches...she was very excited. I know that the open call was listed on NYCastings and it specifically said an age range and specific height that they were looking for at this time. Was your daughter between 48 inches and 55 inches tall? (I think that is what was posted on the Nycastings posting.) Like everyone else was saying, there are other agencies to consider, and since you didn't hear back from Product, maybe you will soon. Don't give up.

The age range started at age 3 and the height was 36". So a very wide range. I think the mom posting was more surprised at the lack of friendliness as opposed to the lack of interest. Like I said previously, it doesn't take much time to be cordial, especially since the open call wasn't busy.

yeah, like cosette said, I guess I was just a little suprised by the whole thing. I called last week and specifically asked them if the open call was for all ages and sizes and the person who answered the phone said yes so I guess he gave me some bad information.

we were also at the open call, not many people but Patti was really nice, Avery was not in the best moods. We were getting ready to leave and she said, why dont you take him to get some snacks and to come back, we did just that, and she was extrememly nice, so was the staff. She said" we dont judge kids like that", which suprised me. I hope she calls because she was really great!

Actually he confirmed what was being said- if Patti was nice or social to you, she was interested in your child. If she didn't introduce herself or speak to you she wasn't interested.

Big congrats to Avery!
