did anyone attend this and how did it go?

I took my ds and things I thought went great! Patti wants to start sending him out a.s.a.p, and wants me to come back next week to meet the people who run GenerationTV! It's very exciting!

there are two threads running about this open call. On the other I posted that we didn't really meet anyone at the open call. Another poster said the same. There were two people handing out/taking forms and taking hight measurments. They were both pretty young looking (one man..Jake maybe??, one woman). The only other person there was taking the pictures. So I don't think Patti was there.
I thought it would be like other open calls I've heard about where they meet with you for a min or two. If I knew they were just taking one photo and that was it, I just would have mailed in and not come in. How did they decide who to meet with at the open call and who just to take pictures of if they didn't actually communicate with anyone.

jakesmom, I had the same kind of experience as you except that Patti met with my 2 youngest kids, saw photos of my other 4. She was interested in all of them for print and is setting up an appointment for them with GenTV next week also. Congrats to you!

I attended this open call today. We got there at 1:40pm, and Patti absolutely loved my dd! She asked me to email pics. of my other two dds and she will call me monday, so dd can meet with the gen tv. agents, sing, and read lines. She said she's on the borderline for print (age/height) but she can send her out. I forgot to bring pics but she took a few of her. We are so excited!

Babymodelmom- the lady who took the picture was Patti. Of course you wouldn't know this because she didn't introduce herself. I really think they could have been friendlier, even if they weren't interested in your child. After all, it wasn't a busy open call, and it only takes a minute to say hello.

oh well then that's it for us. DD tried to interact with her several times, but either she didn't hear her or chose not to respond. Also, it seemed she was annoyed with me. I thought she said she wanted DD to hold the card with her name so I put it in her hands, but then she looked at me like I was nuts and told me to hold it for her. I was just trying to stay out of the way and let DD do things herself becuase I didn't want to appear pushy. She did play with the guy at the door for a min. Oh well, I won't expect to hear back. It seems she only spoke to the people she liked.

Amandaacts...I think my experiece was almost the same as yours. My ds had his picture taken by Patti, but I wouldn't of known that was her, but she introduced herself to me, then he was measured. There were two other women at the call as well as a man. They all did say their names, but I can't remember them. I too was told I'll hear from the GenTV dept. next week to set up an appointment regarding that division. When I went it was 11:30 and there was NOBODY there, (maybe that is why everyone formally introduced themselves). I would say this was the fastest moving open call, as well as the people being the friendliest.

jakesmom- yes there was one person with a child in a stroller leaving when we got there. Yes, there was a man standing around in the back, and a girl who gave us a form to fill out. Patti introduced herself and kept saying how much she wants to send my dd out for. I tried to keep calm =) It seems we had similar experiences. It went quick, 5 minutes!

also, there was a parent with 3 kids repped by generation. She was very friendly and was there to answer any questions. She even offered to help my dd with a couple things, and said I got a great response from Patti. Her kids are younger and she had magazines with their pics in them. She was very happy with Generation!

It seems true that Patti only spoke to the people whose children she was interested.

I'm sorry you had that experience. She really is a ncie person. I didn't attend the open call. I sent pictures of my dd through the email and met with Patti one on one. Perhaps she had a busy day. Good luck Babymodelmom...don't feel bumbed. She might just call you back If not, you also have Product and Ford agencies.

babymodelmom- don't fret! There are many other agencies out there. It sounds as though she might have been searching more for older kids, not babies. Patti and her staff really are very nice, and maybe you should wait one month and email her some pictures. You can submit pics online to Product, and you'll get a response either way via email.
