Anyone else attending the upcoming musical theater audition workshop with Diane Hardin and Bob Marks on the 24th or the Lane Napper improv workshop on the 27th (both April)? Would be great to me some fellow boarders.

I wouldve loved to have my ds go to that! Hes doing a week with diane hardin in july but not for musical theatre. Hope your child has fun, is it the first class with diane? My ds cant wait weve heard such great things about her!

Yes, the first class is with Diane and Bob. It will by my DD's first workshop experience ever. We were too late to get into one of Diane's summer intensives, but we're hoping to do a fall one, and I'm also waiting to hear what Madelyn Burns has planned over the summer.

Madelyn just released her first summer camp and it looks really good. We may be doing that as well. 10 casting directors and 14 agents! I dont remember all the casting directors teaching but I know that it will be Nickelodeon, all three soap operas (One Life to Live, Guiding Light, and As The World Turns), someone from Beth Melsky (The BIGGEST commercial casting house in NYC), a voice over casting director, one or two other commercial names and I think she mentioned Carrie Haugh (Sesame Street) who has been using a lot of teens lately. It sounded pretty good. We'll probably do it. I know last summer they used a bunch of her kids on one of the soaps and carrie has been calling kids from there a lot (for PAYING) roles. A lot of my DD's friends who took the Carrie session got called in to work. But come to think of it, my own DD wasn't one of them. LOL Hmmmm

Also, Diane is fabulous fabulous too! DD loves her.

Yes, please PM me!!! Lots of recent developments, good and bad. Kipmil has been giving me grief counselling!! LOL!!! But we persevere . . . . Just signed up for Lane today. DD has a student film audition that afternoon (lots of calls for them lately), so it works out really well. I hope we can finally meet!

I am going to call Madelyn tomorrow to talk about her summer schedule. Sound like that workshop would be great. Would love to do a musical theater one. Had to miss out on the current Nicole Vallins one because dance isn't quite over yet (June 1 -- recital -- can't come soon enough!!!)

I have to give Kip a call. Her DD is doing SOOO well right now. She did the Nicole Vallins class and did great. Nick casting director was at her showcase & two weeks later she ended up with a major contract role. Her DD is very talented.

Where do you find the information on the workshops? Also, I signed my DD up for a Madelyn Burns film class taught by Erica Palgon. Has anyone taken classes by her? I hear so much talk about the summer program I am wondering if I should have waited or if you all had any feedback on this being a good class, Thanks.

Bob Marks and Diane Hardin have websites. You need a referral for Lane's classes.

Thanks, castlerock! I didn't even know Lane had a website. The contact person listed is the one who runs the network who you need a referral through, so that makes sense.

Yeah, Diane's summer dates didn't work for us (two were sold out before I called and the third overlaps when my DD starts school, and it's her first year in middle school so no way is she missing that!!!) I am going to call Madelyn Burns today; I'll PM you once I do.
