Unique Talent Management

Hi, I am new to the board but this caught my attention. I have found a lot of information on a great web site called "Ripoff Report"

I hope this helps

My son has done a couple of jobs from kids who are repped by them. Since they are management, they get most of their auditions from Stanley Kaplan. I've also heard they send kids out on MANY cattle call auditions.

Just got a call from Sarah (sp?) Bayer from Unique Talent Management. She said she works in tandem with a lot of agents, including Stan Kaplan and Dorothy Palmer. For this particular call, she'd submitted my info from a NYCastings.com submission I'd made a while back for a different project. Gave me an appointment time for a casting that's on Actors Access. She'd mentioned that commission is 20%, split between the agent and her company.

It's Lisa Bayer.

My daughter has gotten some work through her, too. From my experience, I think Unique Talent Mgmt mainly gets background work and the modeling go-sees that she sends people out on are all cattle calls. I actually walked away from one when I saw the line actually went from the building, all the way down the block, around the next corner and down that block. I couldn't believe that ANY parent would keep their child on a line like that for a 2 second go-see.

She deals with Stanley Kaplan and Dorothy Palmer ----- 2 people who are not very respected in the industry.

The other thing I don't like is that she charges to be on her website even though I can't imagine any castings coming from her site and, if you look at her site, the pics on there are all old. I know some of the kids on that site and the pics there are over 2 years old --- the kids don't even look the same anymore.

The one GOOD thing is that you get paid directly from production and then you send her the 20% so at least you know you're going to get paid.

Lisa is OK..... she's out to make a buck, so she's going to get you as much work as she can, even if it's only all background. I've never had a problem with her. (Keep in mind, though, I haven't had any dealings with her in 2 1/2 years)

Oops. My apologies for the mistake. I don't know why I thought it was Sara(h). She said Lisa on her voicemail. Thanks for the correction, DianeNYC.

I should also add that I am an adult being submitted by Unique Talent, since this is in the Kids forum.

As for paying to be on the website, I don't know of any agency who doesn't charge website fees. Normally I opt to not be on the website.

I just don't get why anyone would want to be on any agency or manager's website? No casting director is going to sit down and go from site to site looking for talent... they put the breakdown out there and the agents and managers submit the appropriate talent.

I've never had my daughter on anyone's site because it's pointless.
