My 12 year old daughter has notebooks filled with songs she writes (and I think a lot of them are really good and not just cause Im her mom LOL..) but I have no idea what the next step would be like who to show them too and who makes the music for songs? If anyone knows of anyone reputable in NY OR NJ that could help her I would really appreciate all the help. P.S. She also sings so she would be the one recording them.

So far just lyrics.

Does she have ideas in her head for how the melody lines go for her songs? If she does get her a small hand held electronic recorder and have her start singing the songs into the recorder. It's going to be pretty expensive to get someone to write music for her lyrics, so if she already has some idea, it would be better to start there.
