Is there any chance she has a chance...mainly because we don't live in California or New York.

I heard of a girl who does not live in Ca or NY who sent in a tape and was called in to audition and got a call back, so its definitely worh a shot! Good luck!

I saw they were still holding open calls this weekend. my daughter went on an audition 2 weeks ago in LA. it was the longest audition she have ever went on, she was in there for longer then 10 minutes, almost 15. She will be 8 but is the same size as a 5 to 6 year old. Very little. We didn't get a call back. They said she did good, but she is so not the tomboy type. it would be totally against typecasting. I guess they still haven't found what they are looking for if they are having 3 open casting calls. Good lock to everyone. This would be a great part!

DD auditioned today in NY and did great! ( So she said! Smiler )
She said they taped her doing the sides. Is that a good thing? She also said they were really nice! I was glad!
We were told there will still be two-ish call backs and to stay tuned. ( I don't know if DD will be called back, but that's what they told us at the call! )
The final decision will be made in about 3 weeks, the lady said.
Good luck to all!!

I wouldn't say it was "crazy"...
There were more kids than I thought , because we got there 45 minutes ealy, and there were already about 100 kids there. When she went in for the actual audition an hour later, the line in the door of people coming up the elevator had not stopped. And teh ages /looks spanned any/all. I even saw flaming readheads and latino kids!
Good luck to you as well! Smiler

Thanks for the update!!! 3 weeks huh? then we will all know! When my daughter did her audition they filmed sides. It is a good thing Binismom!! They filmed my daughter doing the bike scene about 5 times> I don't know if that was good or bad(that it took 5 times to get what they wanted)

If anyone gets a callback post it. i would love hear about that and how they match up twins!

Good luck!!

Does anyone know why they split the children at the Open Casting Call in NYC into two separate groups: A and B?

I don't know for sure, but I suspect it was that they had 2 rooms going. DH and I were thinking about it, and it got the kids moved through more efficiently.
I seriously do not Think one single thing was decided on the spot, as there were so many kids they needed to move through.
Well, other than automatically axing someone who looked 10 or something...of which I saw several...I was kind of thinking "Why Bother" if the kids look 10? I guess you never know though!
I also saw a bunch of redheadded kiddos there. I thought they had nixed red? They even apologized on one of the call lists.

dramamama,
I think I agree with you. How are they supposed to do this in 3 weeks? It would have to be a very quick decision, indeed! The 3 week thing is just what the lady said. I'm pretty sure she wasn't the CD, so how whould she know? Wink

I sent my daughter's audition on video I think it was May 22 and they still haven't downloaded it (they told me to send it by yousendit.com)...not sure if they will...with as many children that showed up at the live casting calls...I'm wishing my husband would have let me take her...because now I don't know if she'll even be seen.

Binisman,
It's very possible they separated them strictly to keep things moving along, however, they initially forgot to give my daughter a letter on her card and, when I told them, she was "sized up" briefly and told to sit on the "A" side.
