I can see what you're saying here, but I would still think its best to get it an advance as well. Sometimes auditions pop up with only 24 hour notice, some are the same day, and even at the audition, they may want to see, or at least know that the child has a work permit. You have to be careful, and its better to be safe than sorry. I understand your point though!

Castlerock u r so right about renewing it after 5 months. Right now my kids expire the first week of school and u know I need the letter from school in order to renew it. Great advice!
