It's perfectly fine and a lot of actors do it on a regular basis, especially in LA. If you can get in the door, then do it. If there is no specific drop box, then ask the assistant (if there is one) at the desk where you can place it. There is usually no problem. Just don't hang around expecting to be seen while you are there. Get in, drop it off, say thank you and leave.

Many casting offices have an official policy forbidding, or at least discouraging, unsolicited drop-offs. Do such "rules" ever deter actors from the practice? Not hardly. Following the rules may earn you a weekly pay check, but not in this industry. It's called, "Gorilla Marketing." Go get 'em, fellow primates! www.robertkim.com

Robert, Great post. It is all about going out there and making it happen. When people start asking questions in this forum such as should I do this or should I do that, then they begin to limit their options because they think that the words spoken in this forum are gospel. Get out there and make your career happen. Just don't be stupid. It is one thing to drop a h/r, it is another thing to go inside demanding an interview. Guerrilla marketing. I love that sh#! P.S. I should also state that since this forum is for newbies, it is best to start off on the more conservative side. Learn the ropes, then learn to bend or break the rules intelligently. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
