Oh, the new site doesn't disclose it like the old site did.

The intensives (2 classes a week for a month) are expensive, but I ensure you they're worth EVERY penny. I've gone through all of the levels and KNOW I got better because of it. You have to take the intensives one time before you can do the on-goings which are a reasonable $250/month.

The Foundation intensive: $500
Intermediate: $600
Advanced: $650

Thanks so much Truth Teller. So, do you have to go through all the intensives to get into the ongoings or just take one at a time? I just got her book a couple months ago and thought it was brilliant. Such a simple approach but really effective. Have you taken Kimberley Jentzen by any chance?

Say you meet Margie at the orientation and she looks at your resume and thinks that you should start in the Intermediate class. Then you would enroll in the intermediate intensive. After that, you can either do the intermediate on-going or go straight to Margie's Advanced intensive and then do the advanced on-going after having completed the advanced intensive.

I've studied with Kimberly Jentzen and think she's a great teacher. She's more for scene study. Her approach to cold reading is different from Margie's. Kimberly says that you should memorize as much as you can by looking at a whole sentence or phrase and staying up when saying it. I find this choppy and not as real in MY opinion.

Margie's approach is just memorizing the first line for an audition. Her belief is that it's like a regular conversation where you know what you're going to say first, but you don't exactly know what you're going to say next until after you listen to what the other person is saying. Also, when you talk to someone in real life, are your eyes always up or do they sometimes look elsewhere? The latter! That's what makes Margie's phrase technique so natural. Margie proves that you can still have a connection by looking down while reading the lines but looking up during the important parts or end of phrases.

I'm currently studying the Fundamental Intensive with Barbara Gannen and absolutely love it....Barbara is AWESOME! I've taken quite a few classes in L.A. now and this class, by far, is worth every penny.
