Hi guys!

Just wanted to say hello to all you lovely, golden, svelte, gorgeous LA people! My name is Alexandra and I'm coming over to LA from England this summer for an actors training programme...and at the moment am feeling a complete mix of total excitement...and pure terror! Hope this is normal for someone when they venture to the City of Angels! Please forgive me if I ask any inanely silly questions but it's all brand new to me and although I know it's definitely not all fun and games, I can't wait to take advantage of all the great opportunities out there!

You share the same trepidation with all who venture to the Golden State. But it's not really as scary a place as you'd imagine. However, it is BIG. I strongly recommend that you arrange for a rental car when you arrive, or enlist the help of some kind soul who wouldn't mind squiring you around town. Driving the Mean Streets of LA when you're used to driving on the left side could be a bit dicey, for any driver.

When you narrow down the best areas to find acting opportunities, LA isn't quite as hard to negotiate as it may first seem. Once you learn our freeway system a bit better, it begins to make sense. Just do a search on this same board to find the most likely places to live and work.
