This is obviously a newbie question. haha. I am only 14, and am taking singing lessons with former broadway star, Sherry Kaye. She keeps telling me that i have to "come out of my shell" and not be so shy when singing. Everyone does tell me that i have an amazing voice and i have a great range (can go higher than high E). Its just that, i try so hard to not be shy, but its not working. What can i do?

Broadway, here i come.

Get in front of an audience.

Do your school plays and musicals. Even raising your hand in class is an opportunity to show your confidence.

Honestly, I stick to the, "imagine the audience in their underwear" type deal. You should also try to imagine yourself as the Broadway Star yourself. You sound like you are talented but do you enjoy singing? If you do, there is absolutely no reason why you wouldn't be having fun while doing it so.... JUST SHOW IT!!!

Good luck.
