Why is it that all the sag vouchers go to the the beautiful girl with a great body? have we become that superficial to choose beauty over talent. It saddens me to see this day after day..my 2 yrs of extra work and nothing. Jase
I think Oregon is part of the northwest region of SAG and is not part of the voucher system like some of the other areas in the country. At least this w/film and tv. We only get them if it's a SAG commercial/industrial/educational video.

thats very unprofessional if it's actually happening.
in my experience, waivers aren't easy for anyone to get. and can you really ever show your talent through the being an extra? i feel like its pretty arbitrary anyway. you just have to be in the right place at the right time.

Jase I understand your concerns I have often been on sets and see that same situation taking place. You have to remember one thing that "sex" sells, and what they (Hollywood)try to do is create an illusion for the viewers. This is a supply and demand business. I feel Talent is starting to slowly take a backseat to looks. If it hasn't already. How many times have you seen a movie, tv show, etc.. where the actor was terrible, but they look good as hell? lol ! Just because he/she looks good you say fuck it and except it. Just stay true to the craft and your time to shine will come through.

Well it's good to hear from you all. I moved back to Oregon in Nov. 2006 after losing a 7 day $128 per day gig on "I now pronounce you chuck and larry" That one loss cost me everything and Central casting called me a mere 12 hours before the gig was going to start..very unprofessional Cental. I had worked on Blades of Glory previously for 3 weeks and no thanks but a kick in the ass..thankless work sometimes. but again the beautiful busty women still got the vouchers. Hollywood has changed, beauty and nepotism rule..and fuck I think i'm a goodlooking guy it's sad..but I will stay true..thanks all, and thank you C.P. Jase
Jase just remain focus man ! Your turn is just around the corner . People come into this business with all the wrong intentions. They either want to get rich quick, be a major movie stars fast, or use their body to get ahead, etc.... So just pull over and give them their passing lane, and once they pass you. You just resume you position man. That's all !

I know what you mean, Jase... it happens in LA too. It's really pathetic to see girls swarm around the PA in search of vouchers (though usually there are none to be had). There are still some people with integrity, but it's a screwed up system.

Try being a pretty girl and then meeting these weirdo extras with no teeth and no money, no plans to EVER join SAG or be an actor and they tell you how they "lucked out and got a voucher." You don't even know what a voucher IS you hicks!!!!

I know what you mean too, Miss Stone, the missing teeth not withstanding. I remember hearing stories from non-actor extras that didn’t see a voucher as anything more then a bigger paycheck for the day... one guy claimed to have 14 sag vouchers!
