What type of theater are you interested in. Musical, Classical, Contemporary? Where do you live. We would all travel anywhere for the right company, but you will soon find that traffic makes that VERY difficult.

If you wanted a career in theater you should have went to New York. Los Angeles is where you come to start a television and film career since this is where most of it is made. If you're stuck in rehersals and locked into performances you will not have time to audition for the types of jobs that pay for your acting services.

L.A. is not the best place to go if you want to pursue a career in theater. New York and Chicago would be stronger choices. But you're here now so there's no reason you can't hone your skills on stage while you try to get acting jobs in film and television.

If you haven't already, get into a good acting class where you can create a circle of friends that can steer you in the right direction. You should also get out there and see some plays. The more you see, the more you'll get a sense of what's out there.

As a former New Yorker, I can assure you that there are plenty of good theater companies here in the city of angels. It just takes a little while to find them.
