I rec'd an email from someone who ids himself as a casting guy telling me he found me on Backstage and wants me to audition. Then there is a description of the short film and a breakdown which looks legitimate, has all the right form and words, etc.. The guy's production website does exist, as well. However, the film is not listed on Backstage, Actors Access, Mandy, etc. I can't find it anywhere. And the guy is being very informal with me in emails. Nothing inappropriate, just very informal. And he does not yet have an audition space booked. What do you all think of this?

Wait until he has a site booked for the audition, make sure it is a legitmate one, not some apartment or home. If you feel uncomfortable, bring a friend. Trust your gut, it usually is not wrong.
