I just “signed” with Diverse Talent Group. I met with them and they loved me for their commercial department. So they extended an offer and I accepted. However, I never signed anything. Just words were exchanged. It’s been 2 weeks now and I have not yet gotten anything. She just called me once and asked if I surfed and I said no and that was that. Then, I had a meeting wit Coralie Jr. Agency today. First off, does anyone know anything about them? I can’t seem to find any info on them at all. S. Edward was intense to say the least. He made me do a monologue and was very critical. However, ended up offering to represent me anyway (not gonna lie, that came as a shock) He is offering me a year long contract for both commercial and theatrical representation. I am new to this and I have many questions. So, here are my concerns and questions:
What do I do about Diverse? Is 2 weeks long enough to judge them even though I have gotten nothing. How do I know the agent is really doing her job and is looking for work?
Is Coralie legitimate? I know they are SAG franchised but how do I know that they are not a “scam”
Can I have 2 commercial agents?
If I were to sign a year long contract, then what happens? What if it’s not working out later on? Can I get out of it?
Should I tell Diverse or Coralie about one or the other? Or since it was just a verbal agreement with Diverse, I can still sign with Coralie without them knowing? Any legal troubles I can get myself into with all this that I need to know of?
Sorry for asking so many questions. I am just soo lost and I only have a few days b4 I have to answer to Coralie. PLEASE HELP!!!

First, you need to call Diverse and ask if there is a contract to be signed or get the details of there thoughts about what they intend to do. It just might be an assistant who did not follow up with you or an oversight. If they only represent you commercially and you sign a contact that states as such, then you need to let them now that someone wants to represent you theatricaly. Coralie Theatrical Agency is legitimate and does primarily theatrical bookings. They are not in the top 50 commercial agencies. Diverse is in the top 25 commercial agencies. You should always let an agant know who is reping you one or the other. If you get called to an audition by one and another calls and you say you cam't make it because of the other it can cause problems. READ YOUR CONTRACTS carefully before signing. Never let them pressure you into signing on the spot. Take it home and review it and let someone knowledgable look at it to who is in the industry if you can.

Wow..That was really helpful. Thank you so much. As far as Diverse, I talk to my "agent" Laura Bowman on a daily basis. She has become sort of like a friend and I know she likes me a lot. She had very good communication with me and has given me her cell and home number to call with anything. However, still no work. But then again, it has only been 2 weeks since I've been with them. I like her a lot so far and even though there has not been a written contract involved, I don't think that she has ill intentions or is gonna screw me over. I'm gonna wait like 2 more weeks, if there is still no auditions and no signing of an actual contract THEN I think I'm gonna bring it up to her. What do you think? As far as Coralie Jr. I am sooo confused?? He said he wanted to sign me for both commercial and theatrical. I DO NOT WANNA LET GO OF DIVERSE FOR CORALIE. So...I've decided to sign with Coralie ONLY for theatrical...that is IF Stuart Edward (the agent at Coralie) allows me to do that. If he says no then forget it. Which in that case I’m planning on going and submitting more in hopes of another agent. See my problem is that even though I have a lotttt of training, I have nothing on my resume that counts. I've been in school for so long (just graduated) which is why I just kinda wanna get with any theatrical agent to build up my resume for a year and then take it from there...maybe to a more reputable agent. So, we'll see how everything goes! What do you think?
