I know this is a silly question, but when you are an extra on a film does it count for some of your experience? I know it isn't as important as roles you have played in plays, etc. But is it important to mention?

in oregon, you can probably list it. but if you ever go to a big city like NYC, LA, Boston, Chicago, you really need to take it off asap.

in smaller markets, some agents are ok with listing extra work.

Extra work does NOT go on a resume- period!!!

""I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be outworked. You may be more talented than me. You might be smarter than me. And you may be better looking than me. But if we get on a treadmill together you are going to get off first or I'm going to die. It's really that simple. I'm not going to be outworked." -Will Smith

It's ok if it's up here, just replace it w/bigger roles when you get them. It does help getting an agent up here. It shows that you've been on camera and know what to do, more than a stage actor(AEA), that has SAG on their resume w/no film credits on it.

I would agree that it can be a good learning experience... but it should not go on your resume.

Extra work never goes on an acting resume.
