Has anyone been to one of those seminars where they have casting directors and agents ?? I know about this seminar and after the Q&A they give you a few scenes to perform on stage and then the CDs and agents talk to you about it and give their opinion and you get a copy of the tape. If anyone has attended to this seminars is it worth it ? is it a good experience ? is it a good oportunity to showcase infornt of real CDs and agents ??

Yes I have been to a few seminars for agents, CD's, and managers. Well, before I answer if it's worth it. It all depends on what you are looking for? What you hope to achieve by attend these seminars? But to answer your question more throughly- yes I feel they are worth it. Your paying to play. lol! Atleast to me others may have different views on seminars. Check out a few and see for yourself. You can take a seminar with a CD that you may be interested in working with. Or an agent that you would like to represent you. Seminars benefits actors in different ways according to what your goals are. Hope my response helps u.

I been to a few seminars. the sag foundation offers them from time to time, and is usally (nyc) held at the acadamy of dramatic arts.

nothing I dont already know when I go to those things, but still its fun when I have nothing better to do.

AFtra also have a simiar thing..

and I dont pay to meet people. Meeting casting and agents should be free, paying for it kinda, cheapens the whole experience for me...

SAG I agree with you a 100% but when an actor submits and don't recieve a call for whatever reason. What else is one to do. You know ! I'm greatful that I normally get called in when I submit to a CD, but what about those who can't get seen. It's a 50/50 chance as I'm sure you all ready know. Like the saying goes " U CAN"T EM' JOIN EM". lol !
