Here's a question. I was just called for an audition for a musical film but there is not much dialogue, mostly only singing and dancing. I will get some screen time, but I was wondering if these films are even worth doing. I'm still in college, doing student and short films to build up my resume until I'm done. But you can't put them on a resume and it's not much of a reel builder. What do you guys think?

sounds like you got called in for the same one i got called in for. seems like they are taking absolutely everyone, no auditions. teaching everyone the same hip hop routine and then if you can sing you'll go in to record it.
it doesn't sound like a reel or resume builder. and i don't think it's actually an audition. i think it just is. and i don't get the impression that anyone gets lines.
THAT SAID...
i have a resume of leading and supporting roles. i don't need to be in a huge group shot.
if you don't have much of a resume, do it. why not?

yea, I think they said it was like a casual interview/meeting.
so I'm not alone on this. not a reel builder nor something to add on a resume. I guess I would have to pass up on this one. I would go to it if I lived in L.A. but sadly I live in Northridge, so I gotta be a little picky. That v6 engine + gas prices is eating me alive. ouch
