I do not live in the LA area but I live 2 hours away. Do you think it would be better to put an LA address as the return address on submissions (maybe a PO Box or relatives address) and get a pay as you go Los Angeles phone?

Thanks in advance!

NOT NECESSARY!

Who cares what area code you have on your cell phone. It doesn't matter anymore!

Also, when mailing out stuff, NEVER put your actual return address unless you want weirdos coming to your house.

Put your name and the agency's address underneath it. The post office only cares if you have a return address. NOT specifically yours.

Thanks!!! I was thinking about the cell phone thing. People move and still keep the same area codes on their cell phone. So I hope that's okay. As for the return address, I don't have an agent seeing as I am sending out submissions on my own. I don't want to put my own address because anyone would find me. I think I am going to put my grandparent's (with their permission of course) address because they live in South Pasadena.

Thanks again about the cell phone thing... It's true, it doesn't matter anymore.

***I just want to make myself marketable. The best out there. I don't want it to seem like I have to trek many hours just to audition and be reachable.

Smiler

Did you fully listen to what I said about return addresses?

PUT THE ADDRESS OF THE AGENT YOU'RE SENDING TO'S ADDRESS AS THE RETURN ADDRESS! Agents don't care about the return address! They care about what's inside of it!

For example:
Return Address:
John Doe
11969 Ventura Blvd. 3rd Fl. #7409
Studio City, CA 91604

Mailing Address:
Alica Ruskin
KSR
11969 Ventura Blvd. 3rd Fl. #7409
Studio City, CA 91604

They're the SAME ADDRESS!

Also, do you want weirdos coming to your grandparents' house? There are murder stories because actors leave their home address or home phone number on their stuff. Do you want that to happen? DON'T BE STUPID!

Whoah. Calm down. I accidentally read your message wrong. There is no need to get worked up about it. I wasn't going to put my grandparents address anyways, I didn't think it was a right thing to ask.
I read the last part of your message wrong about putting the agency address as the return address. I read it too fast and replied to quickly. Okay. Problem solved.

And I'm not being stupid. It was a tiny mistake made on my part and life will eventually go on, if you will let it.

I just wanted to make sure you didn't do anything dangerous. I don't know you so I didn't know whether or not you were serious about using your grandparents' address. I had to be forceful to make sure that you didn't make any dangerous decisions.
