There are a few projects I submitted myself for, they're labeled SAG but offer no pay. I thought if a project had a contract with SAG, there would be minimum payment based on the SAG scale? Am I wrong? Someone please shed some light on to this poor green actor ;P

There are some student and independent films that have a SAG Waiver thus allowing SAG actors to work on them. A lot of student/indie films do this because they want quality actors for their projects but at the same time, don't have the budget to pay them big bucks.

I believe those projects are under the stipulation that if they make money off it, you get something... but in the case of the student films, there is pretty much no chance off this happening. And with the independents, they often say "deferred pay," which usually means no pay.

I know they have to do a lot of paperwork to be a SAG film, even if there is no money involved.

Ah I see, I guess that's not really a problem for someone in my position - although a few bucks would definitley help haha.

Good Morning,

I have a question concerning SAG. I worked on a SAG film for 4 days, had two scenes and three lines with a stunt as well. I was told that I had no advantage in obtaining SAG eligibility.

I enjoyed the production and the people involved, but I wonder if I've missed an opportunity through lack of knowledge.

Depends on which SAG contract the producers used. Some will get you in and some will not. You can find the various contracts at sagindie.org

I think it depends upon the film, because I was in a SAG mod. budget film, and got a couple of lines, and I wasn't paid (they did ended up on the cutting room floor-the lines). Even though I was still in the film.
