No. But I do plan on buying a few soon. I looked on amazon.com and typed "acting" in the search bar and a bunch of books popped up. Some with really good reviews. So you should start there.

All books by Eric Morris are great. I also like "Strasberg, At the Actors Studio" which have some recorded tape sessions of his class. Some of it can be vague, but its filled with so many pieces of valuable information, almost epiphanies throughout.

I recommend books by Chamber Stevens. I met him at an event and he was such an experienced actor that helped me alot! I bought two of his books and they have been incredibly helpful!

On the craft or the business? I have ideas on both and don't know where to start....!
Business: Tony Martinez's "An Agent Tells All"
Craft: Well, I love "Audition" by Michael Shurtleff but here's something I haven't suggested before--"Directing Actors" by Judith Weston. It is written for directors, but helps to remind you how to get yourself playing an action with short hand.

Jackie, I loved MS's "Audition". I am currently reading "Sanford Meisner on Acting". Only two chapters in, but its pretty good so far.

I'm reading

THE INTENT TO LIVE BY LARRY MOSS

It's a wonderful book. He is so passionate about acting and reading the book is like getting a Clif Notes on all the most famous films and plays.

Also loved

AN AGENT TELLS ALL by TONY MARTINEZ

I just read

How To Agent Your Agent. It's a book that will be useful to me further down the road in my career but not a great book for the newer actor.

Also refer to this book a lot

YOUR FILM ACTING CAREER by MK & ROSEMARY LEWIS

This was the first acting book I ever bought and it's such a great starter book.

Yeah, Shurtleff's "Audition" is pretty much the best acting book ever! Now before anyone jumps all over me, let me be clear. It's one of the best for being simple, a quick read, with a TON of easily usable ideas. There are of course classics with more gravitas and depth!!! I'm just using Audition again right now and I am always amazed at how awesome it is.
