Can you reccomend a specific teacher to work with at either one of these studios? I'll be taking technique 1. I've heard great things about both places but there are a lot of instructors to work with!

Thanks so much in advance.

Cristina Duarte is great, I also really liked Peter Flynn. Both at Stella Adler. It's the best place to study so most of the faculty is just really strong.

I think he or she is talking about Stella Adler in LA. Tim McNeil is there and Chris Thornton - both for technique classes. Both excellent. That is where I studied and I am a HUGE fan!!! Not interested in Ivana- not at all. She is more about status, celebrities etc. I heard she will not look you in the eye at interviews and she charges to audit classes- ridiculous. Stella is far superior in terms of really learning the craft- not just wanting to study somewhere just because this celeb or that celeb went there. FYI Stella has had MANY names i.e. Robert De Niro and more pass through its doors. Excellent school. No regrets.

Thank you both-- this has been v. helpful. My education in this field is v. important to me and I don't want to waste my time w/ idol worship or name-chasing. I always had an intuitive feeling I should study at SA but loved a Chubbuck book I read so wanted to get some feedback...

Thank you again friends Smiler

I studied with Tim McNeil for 2 years. He is the best and the most generous talented teacher. He also has directed me in King Lear and to me he is the the Menthor.

Oh, and a friend of mine that studied at Ivana told me that their method is based on probably Strasberg, because they use a lot of personal history which , to me, drains you as an actor...whereas Stella Adler -after studying with Stanislavsky, brought this new concept to America-IMAGINATION-which is limitless for your work. So, anybody,go with Stella Adler.
