I met with Jeffrey Tambor and his manager at Brilstein Entertainment Partners today to discuss optioning the film rights to a book that I co-authored with a friend. Jeffrey is a very nice man and he invited me to come to his acting workshop next week.Being a newbie to the business, I can't imagine missing an opportunity like this, so I will be there ready to soak up all that I can

I understand ht he's a pretty good teacher. I know that's he's an excellent comedic actor. Has anyone here been to one of his workshops or heard about them? I saw a clip from one on youtube, and it looks like it's going to be fun.

Cool. I knew that he had taught in the past...but at the time I was inquiring i think he had stopped---he was in the midst of his show and other projects...please let me know how the class turns out!

Fischy, he's doing the workshops on Monday nights from 6:30 until 11:30. Michael Laskin has also taught acting. He was there tonight and may be working with Jeffery to offer intermediate classes in the near future.

Jeffrey was simply amazing. He's a wonderful instructor, and a very thoughtful and intelligent man. Everyone seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves, and he gave a lot of one on one attention. I wasn't able to stay for long because I had a friend from out of town with me. I regret not being able to be there for the full night, but I will definitely be back!

A little more information for Fischy... or anyone else interested.

Jeffrey is going to have one more wqorkshop this Monday and then He'll be filming in Russia for about a month. As it stands right now, he's only doing the workshop occasionally. However, he and Michael Laskin are discussing the possibility of opening a school for acting, which would be awesome! Michael is an excellent teacher with lots of experience too.

I'm very fortunate in that I've received an invitation to return for the full five hours next time. I'm going to have to fight my way out of work, but it's worth it. This is a advanced class filled with accomplished actors. I'm a beginner with only one beginning college class on acting, so I don't plan on participating on stage, but I'm sure to learn a LOTS of good stuff.
