So I've been searching a lot and I can't find a good place to find commercials or soap opera auditions. When I look on Backstage I don't usually see a lot of commercials and I haven't seen any for soaps yet. Is there a better place? Or is the best way to do a mass mailing to casting directors who cast the soaps? Thanks!

having an agent usually helps, since those auditions aren't usually made available to the public. you can sometimes find stuff on actorsaccess and lacasting, and a lot of people get soap work by doing those pay to play meet and greets, but these auditions aren't usually made available to the public.

You might want to try background work for soaps. Some actors get called back for another role or even an audition. They occasionally post here in NY at the nycastings.com site. They are AFTRA gigs, so you must be in the union in order to do even background on a soap here in NYC. With NYC losing another soap, it's going to be a bit tougher to get on a soap opera. Not impossible, but tougher.
