has anybody moved to LA with no representation and with only a few things on your resume? how long did it take you to get an agent? how about castings? Do LA agents consider out-of-town clients if they plan on moving to LA shortly? also, has anyone been to the actor bootcamp in LA? if so, what did you think about it? Sorry for all the questions! Has anyone ever moved to Hollywood with no representation and no credits? I'd say the answer to that question is - yes! Millions have done it.

And no, L.A. agents do not consider out of town clients with just a few credits. Why would we? It's not like this town is lacking for unrepresented actors who are already here and available for auditions.

(Note - no one says "castings" here. The correct term is "auditions". Knowing little things like that is a small step towards fitting in. Like for example, it's absolutely crucial that you learn how to pronounce words like Sepulveda and Cahuenga!)

There are opportunities here. You have to work hard and get lucky for the paying opportunities, but there's no shortage of acting opportunities.

I am just going to echo what most people have said on this post. And if you want to fit in with the L.A. crowd you also have to learn to put "the" in from of the freeway numbers. For example, you might say "take the 5 to the_____"

Here in Northern Cali, we dont add the "the" so when I went to college for acting in L.A. I was perplexed as to why people added the "the". But that is the way it is.

This advice won't get you an agent, land you a role, but hey, after you learn to pronounce Wilshire, Sepulveda and Cahuenga, you will know how to properly give directions to those places.
