Hello Everyone. Does anyone know of any good/safe apartment complexes/townhomes in the LA area? My prices range is $1500-$2500. Thanks in advance for the help!

There was a recent thread on a similar topic:

I suggest westsiderentals.com for apt. searches in LA. It's too large to get specific complex advice....

Westside Rentals is a good site. I live in Brentwood. It's not the L.A. scene - more young professionals and UCLA grads students. It's just a nice, quiet neighborhood not too far from the beach.

You should have no problem finding a good place here in LA for that kind of money.

Many people use westsiderentals, and this is fine.

I would stay away from craigslist ads.

Be specific. "Whatever" just doesn't work.

For that price, you should have absolutely no problem finding a great place.

But I think you're coming at it from the wrong direction. Your first priority should be picking the neighborhood you want to live in. Do you want to set up camp in the Valley or would you rather live in the basin? Would you prefer the west side - which is cooler and closer to the ocean - or are you more of a hip West Hollywood/Los Feliz kind of person.

Once you decide on the neighborhood, get in your car and drive around. Rentals are easy to find. Yes, Westside Rentals is great but you're better off searching from behind the wheel of your car, with some cool L.A. tunes playing on the radio.

By the sea, or not by the sea, that is the question!

My suggestion is to think of all the angles when selecting a neighborhood. I would consider proximity to work, friends, things that you do, etc. I've been out here for a year and it took me that long to realize that the things I like to do and my friends are nowhere near where I live. Hence... I'm having to move when my lease is up.
