My daughter is 5 almost 6 and is a very talented outgoing and not to mention beautiful little girl. I want to know how do I get her seen for modeling or acting? She really wants to act but I dont know where to start? do I send out head shots to modeling agencies? do I need an agent first? How do I get an agent for her? what should I watch out for in terms of scams?

Please help anyone....

Hello and welcome!

Here is a thread that should help get you started. There is a lot to read with links to even more resources, so give yourself some time to read, take notes, and read some more. It may be a bit overwhelming at first, but after awhile, it will all make sense. Good luck to you and your little one! Smiler

We are fairly new to all of this as well. I have to say I have learned so so much from reading everything on these boards. It takes quite a lot of time but it really prepares you and seems so accurate. Whenever you have a question it really seems that someone is always available to help. Even when it is just some reassurance!! Good Luck!

my kids had good success going to an open call audition for print and then got an audition for the agency's tv/film dept as well. Some people have luck with photos, some with open call auditions. My kids had better success being seen in person than with just e-mailing their photos. Good luck!

amen sister...and I think as well as some of my friends that that is the reason my kids have gotten their feet in the door in a very short time. I just pray that they will stay in The Light as He is in the Light and they don't get pulled away. That's what moms and dads or for though to help them stay grounded. I think we should keep in touch!

I posted which agents you might try in the Seattle area and 1 in the Portland area, in your other post that you did. While you're waitng for an agent, websites you might try are:seattleactor.com, actorswebsource.com, and the foreground background talent group on google (you have to get approvrd to join), performerscallboard on yahoo( you have to be approved to join ), and Theatre Pudget Sound they list calls, but some of them you have to be a member to get the contact info. These ones have some print, film, tv and theatre on them.
