Homecoming's McShane to Star in "Kings" Pilot for NBC.

The Homecoming's Ian McShane will star in "Kings," a new dramatic pilot for NBC.

Variety reports that McShane is set to star as King Silas in a contemporary reinvention of the tale of King David, with Australian actor Christopher Egan cast as David.

"Kings" is penned by "Heroes" scribe Michael Green, with the expectation that NBC will confirm the order of a full series of episodes at its 2008-2009 programming announcement on April 2.

Golden Globe winner McShane currently co-stars with Raúl Esparza, Eve Best, Michael McKean, James Frain and Gareth Saxe in the Broadway revival of Harold Pinter's The Homecoming.

McShane made his Broadway debut in 1967 in The Promise. His London stage credits include Joe Orton's Loot and the musical adaptation of The Witches of Eastwick. McShane earned a Golden Globe Award for his performance on "Deadwood" and has appeared in the films "The Golden Compass," "We Are Marshall," "Villain," "Sexy Beast" and "Lovejoy."
