He obviously know almost nothing about guns. But he was right that they will fight until there all dead unless we use other way's to make peace other than by waging war.

I have heard arguments about everything being relative.

That being the argument you could look at war like it were an angioplasty for heart problems. Or you could look at another way of making peace with the heart like taking pharmaceuticals to soothe the problem.

One way removes the threat from coming back and ever becoming an issue.

Alternatives offer time to the threat so it can adapt to the methods that will lead to its own demise morphing into a form that appeases the forces against it therefore allowing it to continue on its path of destruction from another vantage point. Just like cancer.
