Emmy: When it comes to you, it's OK. You make more sense with your text than most people who try to have proper diction!! You are wise beyond any essayist punctuation!!

Very VERY astute, Fischy: And you know what? I would've gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids!! Drat! DRAT!! DRAT!!! AND DOUBLE DRAT!!!
Some of the reasons for that is (a) I have a 9-5 steady gig and I don't feel I have as much time as I did to carefully handcraft my each and every response as I did when I was working as a temp or not working at all; (b)I was writing longer posts and I didn't want to get tripped-up on the bolds, the italics and the "Guy" Smileys; And (c): I got bored of doing it. But thanks for asking, Fischy

thankyou Solo, the ironic part is my spelling isn't so bad in real life, but everything is out the window when i am typing oh well Em
And you are welcome, Emmmy: And trust me: You're notm the only one: Have you seen my stuff??!!! I flippin' lousy!! And I used to write for a living!!! I am my own worst editor!! I suck!! So you're in good company! just keep on putting out your thoughts and I'll always get the message!

But I'd say "on camera" is okay because when people usually say on camera they're not specifically referencing a particular mechanical device called a camera. (They're not saying they can be seen on that camera right there.) They're speaking in the abstract, saying they're being photographed. It's not "the camera" because they're talking generally.
But with a set, it's pretty specific. There's only one. It's a specific location, where they are. (We wouldn't say "I'm not in office tomorrow." We wouldn't say "I'm at dentist" either.)
So to not use the specific article, "the" sounds really bad, like bad surfer lingo.
If I ever get on tv:
Director: Where is Bob, he's supposed to be on set.
Me: Excuse me, you sound like a fukin illiterate or a day laborer who wandered over the new wall.
