I'm am writing this on behalf of my dear friends, the Kents, who have been dealt a tough set of circumstances. Their children Ryan and Hailey are child actors and have been on Grey's Anatomy, Stand Off, and Medium.
I could write you a long description about what a beautiful & brave little baby Hailey is and her incredible family but I think it would mean a lot more to actually show you.
We are trying to get Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to build the Kents a new home. Please visit this website to learn more: http://hopeforhailey.tripod.com/
We believe that if enough people get together to help this very deserving family we can make their dreams come true and provide them with a home that will be a much safer and healthier living environment for Hailey and her family. But we can't do it without all of YOU.
This is something anyone and everyone can do. We're not asking for money, we just want to get the word out there. So please write in, email, or contact Extreme Makeover and let them know that this family needs their help. You can find the snail mail addresses and email addresses to contact the show here: http://hopeforhailey.tripod.com/id1.html
Please help us by keeping this going and posting this on any Forums or Message Boards that you go to. And email it to you family, friends, and acquaintances.
Thanks so much! ~Cindy

Leukemia, especially infant leukemia, is a catastrophic illness.
Unfortunately Medicaid won't approve Hailey because her father works. But what they don't understand is that he certainly doesn't make enough to provide for his family AND pay all of Hailey's medical bills.
She was able to get coverage from another medical insurance company, however it only covers a certain amount. If you have ever been very sick and needed extensive medical care or have a chronic illness then you know that co-pays or the difference of what your insurance company won't pay for can add up very quickly.
The Kents received a letter in the mail last week from Hailey's insurance company stating that her coverage has expired because "she has exceeded the limit" of what they'll cover. Seems VERY unfair, but unfortunately that is a prime example of how seriously flawed America's Health Care System is.

Gary, thanks for the suggestion about the Actors Fund!! I told Hailey's mom about it lastnight, she didn't even know that was an option (and I feel like a dork for not thinking of it! lol)
Heather and mominbiz, thank you for the kind words
Grace and emmyaward, thank you both so much for your kind words and for spreading the word!
