Why do actors do this? If you're not working with the stars. Why do I car about pictures of you with them. Again, annoying. Am I alone in this assumption? Get to that level and that will impress me!

Using pictures of other people for an avatar kind of bothers me, especially if it's a different sex. I may not recognize the person so I may think it's nobody famous and really the person using the avatar. Sometimes the person in the picture isn't so special looking which makes me think the real person must be a complete no-confidence slob of a loser to not use his own picture.

I hate when ANYBODY does that, who cares, people are people and everyone is equal.

It's like they are saying "I'm a star just like them". And the celebrity saying "I have a fan just unlike me".

Plus stars aren't any big deal, they are just people, but some of them get a big head like they are on top of the world.

Why do people collect autographs? Or cheap, tacky souvenirs of their trip to New York City?

Because they want to have a wonderful memory, something tangible that will help them remember.

Some people like to show pictures with celebrities because they believe that by extension, it will give them some sort of vicarious fame or importance. But that's okay, too. Ever wear a designer garment with the label emblazoned on the front, or a buy a designer handbag, or a pair of Air Jordans? Same idea.

If you look closely at your own life, isn't there something that you kept and showed proudly as a keepsake of a pleasant experience or to help bolster your confidence in some way?

It's all good.

Maybe they do it to keep themselves private, and because they admire the person. I have a face of a j-pop singer because I like her music, ayumi hamasaki. I know I'm better looking than her so that makes me a loser? I have pictures of myself on here but I wouldn't use it as an avatar but I wouldn't mind if others use my face as an avatar.

That's another pet peeve of mine. I have a Chaps shirt but I hate that it has a logo. I have two Timberland shirts, but I hate that they have the Timberland logo. I'd avoid buying them for full price, but I couldn't resist the deal. I'm proud that I never bought a Members Only jacket.

I wondered whether that was you. That's what I mean - I don't want to wonder. If I knew it wasn't you, that wouldn't be as bad. Everyone here is in the business so I expect professional shots and pretty faces, which makes this harder than the average forum to tell whether an avatar is the poster.

Do you hate to drink Coca-Cola because it has the Coca-Cola logo on it?

Do you hate to drive Toyotas because it has the Toyota logo on it?

Do you hate to wear Levi's because it has the Levi's logo on it?

Welcome to the wonderful world of reality.

And that's another thing, I hate drinking from cans without a straw because who knows what touched the part you put your lip to. And I hate that Quiznos and the Duncan Donuts/Pizza Hut food court thing don't have straws. And I hate that when you open a can with a can opener part of the lid gets dunked. Sometimes I wipe it first but I don't want to.

Oh, so since I buy my second choice if it's on sale I must drive a Toyota? That's the kind of thing that makes me want to hide labels. I'm sure there some inexpensive shirts that look like they may be expensive. Put a Chaps logo on it and it ruins everything. Put a Timberland logo on it and people think you're a lumberjack.

Sorry for the typos, I understand that it's cool to meet your favorite star and all, but people think that they are important because they have a bunch of pictures and have no contact information with them, that's kind of sad.

Yes, I do have photos of stars at home, but I don't carry them around for other people to see.

Whether you have photos of stars at home or in your wallet, the purpose remains essentially the same.

In reality, is there much of a difference?

I know a guy and every time I see him or he sees people , he pulls out his photos to show me and I don't care and many people don't as well. There is a difference, some people need to validate themselves in public and impress people, that's not my style but if that what makes him happy, whatever! It's sad to see.

Some of us drink to feel more important.

Or do drugs, or lie, or boast, or do any number of things that other people frown upon.

If by showing his little pictures makes him feel better, by your yardstick that would make him kind of weird, a loser. I fully understand that.

But when you turn that thought inside out, we all participate in activities and habits that many may find equally as weird.

We are all equally complicit.

I already tracked down your picture two days ago. I used it as my avatar for a few minutes but it didn't get added to my past posts and I changed it back to nothing.

Another pet peeve is when girls color outside the lines to make their lips look bigger. If it works, fine, but if it's noticable I hate it. You lipstick is okay except I'm not a fan of liner, especially when it makes points on the upper lip, but you didn't ask so never mind.

Just when I thought my life was perfect I realize I have a zillion pet peeves.

My pet peeve are people who are hypocritical or 'make exceptions to the rule' about themselves.

Life's too short to collect peeves. Moving on.

Uhhh, you don't know the whole story I'm involved with so it's easy to make that assumption, and in my opinion your point is null and void. There's more to it than you think.
