I've often fantasized about sending what look like birds on surveillance missions. Certainly miniaturization has reached the point where this is doable.

I hadn't really considered robot spiders:

Imagine a whole (live-action) movie made from the POV of little creepy crawlies...

I love the part where they are concerned about using the spiders to spy on citizens.

I say, "Bring it on!" My cat would love to stalk and pounce on a robot spider. Regular spiders are too wimpy. The robotic spiders might last more than 10 minutes, add iron to her diet and be "extra crispy."
