Hello, im working on becoming an actress, im auditioning to get an agent and just got called in to this place called Tristar entertainment network (anyone heard of them and what they do and is it worth anything?)But im 2 weeks pregnant. Should I keep auditioning for agents, and commercials? I dont want to stop and when the baby is born im going full force again. But for now what should i do?

Well, as a mother and actor, I just want to caution you that you have no idea whether you will want to stop or slow down after your baby is born!! You can't make that decision now--it's just not possible. Many women plan to keep working and find themselves unable to return to work (they can't bear leaving their children) and others plan to stay home and find it too confining (it's hard to give up a career). SLOW DOWN and take this as it comes.
You are only a few weeks pregnant so go ahead and continue the agency hunt if you'd like--there are actually a few commercial type projects casting now and then that are seeking women who are actually pregnant (although when I auditioned for these it would always be me and about 10 models with flat stomachs who they planned to pad, obviously. And sometimes I just wasn't pregnant "enough" or I was "too pregnant--ugh).
As for the agency--make sure it's licensed. Are you in Lancaster CA? If so, check this link:

Just plug in the name and you'll know whether an agency is licensed. Perhaps tristar network is not an agency but...? what were you called in FOR?

I'm a guy so what do I know BUT...

You should absolutely hit the brakes. Being a mom is a hundred times more important that becoming an actress.

Now let's say you ignore me and try to find an agent. That's a long process. If you're very very lucky, you might land representation in a few months - and like I said, that's if you're super lucky. It will probably take much longer than that. Guess what? By that point, you're starting to show. As an agent, I would have no interest in signing a woman who is pregnant because what's the point? You're not available.

So back off from the acting and focus on becoming a great mom.

And no, I never heard of TriStar Entertainment Network.

Congrats on the baby!

I just thought of something else. Jackie's right. Every now and then, someone is looking for an actress who's actually pregnant.

BUT...

Those cases are rare and few. My friend is a commercial producer and he says that for insurance reasons, it's easier to hire a non-pregnant actress and then pad her.

So please don't base your decision on the slim chance that the perfect pregnant role will come along, that matches your age, type, and pregnancy.

I am a mother of two one almost a year old I am just starting acting I am thirty I am overweight etc, and I have let everything get in my way until recently.

Now this is a topic my husband and I get into alot but I have to tell you something only you can decied how much this means to you when and where you want to do it.

Kids are alot of work and leaving children are hard but if you can handle both that is your choice you will get bigger but if you have the passion it will show with or with out pregnancy and will get stronger trust me on that!

you will be guided one way or another once you have a kid you will be guided all sorts of directions the key is you.

P.S. There are pregnant roles Just be honest to whoever you are working with know what you want and dont be afraid!
